The Evergreen initiative from Ground Control enables environmental projects that make a difference by delivering biodiversity net gain and carbon sequestration.
This is our story so far:
2020: Ground Control launched the Evergreen Fund, dedicating 5% of Ground Control’s annual net profits to a £5 million Impact Venture Fund dedicated to environmental initiatives and carbon sequestration.
2021: Wildfell in Essex is established, Ground Control’s first centre for environmental recovery and habitat bank for biodiversity net gain.
2022: Ground Control is awarded Carbon Neutral Status
2022: Ground Control becomes B-Lab certified as a B-Corporation
2023: Ground Control plants over a million trees, exceeding the target to plant one million trees by 2025
2023: Science-Based Targets (SBTi) approves Ground Control’s commitment to become Net Zero by 3038
2023: Devana in Cambridgeshire is established as Ground Control’s second centre for environmental recovery, and a habitat bank for biodiversity net gain
2024: Devana becomes one of the first habitat banks in England on the Natural England, Section 106 sites register
2024: Wildfell wins Excellence in Biodiversity enhancement at the Essex Housing Awards
